About Insight Optical Training

Founded in 2017 to help keep the career ladder for all in Optics. Our founders, tutors, trainers and course writers have years of experience teaching across all parts of optics. We have training for Dispensing Opticians, Optometrists, Technicians, Optical Assistants, Receptionists and sales reps. In short we KNOW optics and with our knowledge you’re in safe, experienced hands with Insight Optical Training.

Company Philosophy

We believe that setting a good atmosphere from the start is key to learning. Training should not have to be painful, but be exciting and interactive. Being interested and passionate about the subject helps to create this culture which often rubs off on participants in their ability to take on board the information and learn at an accelerated pace. We firmly believe that if you give out energy and interest in a subject you are much more likely to get it back.

Our Bespoke Approach to Training

It is important to be flexible and understand individuals’ needs and learning styles when working with people of different roles. We are able to deliver the training in a way that considers people’s different learning styles, including the consideration of the diverse nature of visual and statistical information.

We find this to be of great benefit in building a closer working relationship, which is vital in the training we offer. Working in this way helps create an experience that suits the learners’ unique needs.

Anthony came into optics in 2004 and qualified as a Dispensing Optician in 2009, and as a Contact Lens Optician in 2011. He went on to become a Senior Lecturer in Vision Science and programme director, training Dispensing Opticians.
In 2017 he joined Insight Optical Training, and in 2022 launched MyHealthCPD

Outside of optics, he has a portfolio of non-executive roles including

– Chair of the Transforming Autism Project

– Independent board member at the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health

– The Education and Learning Committee of the Chartered Insurance Institute

– Council member of the British Contact Lens Association

– Trustee of the Association of Chairs

– Trustee of Kent Association for the Blind

– Chief Examiner for NCFE (T-Level in Healthcare Science)
