- Lab safety and British Standard Tolerances
- Equipment overview and usage
- Hands on practical session covering laying off to blocking, glazing & edging
- The workshop covers both manual & automated processes

The course is a short distance learning course, delivered online using our learning portal with full tutor support so you can access it from your lab, practice or at home. You will also receive a printed course training manual to support your learning and to aid your revision.
The course is one of several optional units that make up the Level 2 Optical Support qualification. Achieve a Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers qualification on successfully passing a theory and practical examination.
This course will also help any Dispensing Opticians considering the Level 4 Diploma for Optical Technicians Fast-track course and may not have done glazing before, as glazing is a mandatory part of the Level 4 qualification.
