Assess frame geometry, minimum blank-size requirements and prescription-related dispensing considerations.
Enter the boxing measurements from the frame. Use a traced ED where available.
A branded visual measurement guide can be added here later.
Use monocular distance PDs so right and left decentration are calculated independently.
These selections are used for the suitability assessment. They do not replace manufacturer or laboratory requirements.
Enter fitting heights where relevant. For progressive and occupational lenses, use the monocular fitting height from the lowest point of the boxed lens shape to the fitting cross/pupil position. If the selected lens has a stated minimum fitting height, enter it for a direct check.
When fitting heights are entered, the cut-out estimate uses combined horizontal and vertical displacement from the boxing centre. This is a conservative geometric screening estimate, not a traced-shape glazing guarantee.
Enter the distance prescription. Sphere and cylinder use 0.25 D steps and always display a sign. Axis accepts whole numbers from 1–180° and is disabled when cylinder is plano.
This tool is a dispensing aid, not a glazing guarantee or thickness calculator. It does not model actual frame shape, lens design, base curve, minimum centre/edge thickness, surfacing limits, groove/drill requirements or manufacturer-specific blank availability. Confirm the final specification with a tracer, the selected lens supplier and the glazing laboratory.
